Our check-in Registration Office hours are from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Should you expect to arrive outside these hours, please contact us so we may make special arrangements for your arrival. We look forward to welcoming you.

ADVANCE RESERVATIONS:

Fairways Cottages will take reservation requests one year out from the date of the requests but provides first right of refusal for those guests with a history of repeat business in a particular unit during a particular week. During the first 3-31 days in January of the booking year we will reconfirm the reservation request with the party requesting an advance deposit of $400, $300, or $200 per unit to confirm the reservation for the calendar year.

First Right Of Refusal Policy:

At Fairways Cottages we allow our in-house guests to rebook their same dates and units for the following year. Guests will have to let the office know at check-out or the inventory is considered open and put back live. There are circumstances where inventory management will supersede our policy. Management will have final say on what is possible but we always do our best to accommodates guests who wish to return!  In special cases, families who have a long standing relationship with Fairways Cottages can opt to skip a year but will still have their rights for the following year. *** If you are in peak season (July 1st- Labour Day) and are staying less than 5 nights, the rebook policy does not apply, it is at the discretion of ownership to make the decision based on inventory management. ***

DEPOSITS:

Upon making a reservation a deposit with a valid Visa, Mastercard, American Express or e-transfer is required to finalize the confirmation (please note that we do not accept visa debit). Deposits are $300 for 4–7-night stays, $200 for less than four-night stays, $400 non-refundable for our vacation home, and $300 per each week after 7-night stays. If you do need to cancel your reservation with us, we kindly ask that you forward your request in writing by email to fairwayscottages@gmail.com or call us toll free at 1-877-963-2843.

  • Cancellations received 30 days prior to the arrival date, deposits will be returned in full, except for a $20.00 credit card processing fee.
  • Cancellations received 15-30 days prior to your arrival date, the full deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancellations received 8-14 days prior to arrival 50% of the total reservation shall apply.
  • Less than 7 days100% of the total reservation shall apply.
  • Shortened Stay– no refunds will be offered if while staying you decide to shorten your stay.

*Failure to cancel the reservation may result in the balance of the stay being charged if the cottage remains vacant for the period being held for you.

Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to these policies except when travel restrictions are imposed.

Cancellations must be made under the described rate rules in your confirmation as received from Fairways Cottages to receive a refund. Please note the confirmations/policy received directly from Fairways Cottages will always supersede any confirmation/policy sent by third party booking agents.

Cancellations/changes to reservation dates that come later than the described deadline in your confirmed rate rules will result in automatic loss of deposit and the full amount of the original reservation may be due.

Vacation Rental Insurance:

To protect you against unforeseen circumstances we highly recommend vacation rental cancellation insurance. No one plans for unforeseen circumstances, so this is the best way to ensure peace of mind when the unexpected happens.

*The Guest acknowledges that because of the short rental season in Prince Edward Island, they are buying the time available in the cottage, and they own that time slot.

EXCESSIVE MESS POLICY

For your arrival, our staff work hard to maintain a pristine presentation of our cottages & grounds. Please note we have implemented a new excessive mess policy for both the cottages’ interior and exterior. Upon checkout inspection if we deem an excessive mess has applied, we will charge between $100.00 and $500.00 against your credit card account. Thank you for your understanding and assistance to keep our property and units presentable.

COVID-19 Number of people per party and property policy

Please visit our home page and click the 2021 new service protocols. Also please note that we are now governed under a new set of health directives issued by the provincial and federal governments. Our province has a three phased approach and during each phase we will enforce these guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety.

Of particular importance is the total number of people per unit and the total number of people on the property. Each guest will register the number in their party as well as each vehicle license number. Unfortunately during this time ABSOLUTELY no extra visitors will be allowed on the property other than those who have been confirmed in advance via a written email. This email constitutes a legal-binding contract. Please note should additional people arrive management will request they leave the property. Thank you for your understanding. These policies are in place to ensure your and our other guests complete safety.

REFUNDS:

Pending the details outlined in your confirmation email rate rules, refunds for advance deposits will only be issued, minus a $20 per deposit administration fee, if cancellations are made within the following guidelines, except for 2022 where we have added a “NO-FAULT” clause which states, should either of our respective governments restrict travel between our provinces due to Covid 19 we will waive our cancellation policies.

SELLING YOUR RESERVATION:

This current trend is strictly forbidden. All reservations are non-transferable. Names may be added to the reservation if you are expecting guests travelling separately but the credit card which booked the reservation must be present upon check-in. Package offerings/passes will only ever be given to the person who made the reservation.

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

The privacy of our guests is our utmost priority. Fairways Cottages Inc. will not share your personal data with any third party entity.  Should a third-party online platform for packaging purposes require your email address for sending tickets, we will request your written permission in advance of completing this online process.  If it is your personal preference not to share, we will complete the order using Fairways Cottages’ email and forward the tickets/vouchers to you.

Fairways Cottages guest who book the reservation (must be 21 years of age) and must be on site during the rental. Fairways Cottages has a maximum per unit policy. All units are priced for up to 4 people in the one-and two-bedroom units and up to 6 people for the three-bedroom units and up to 8 people in the vacation home. There is a charge of $10.00 per person per night over the allotted advertised pricing. Maximum allowable occupancy in a one bedroom cottage is 4 people. Maximum allowable occupancy in a 2-bedroom is 6 people, other than #13 which is a maximum of 4 people. Maximum allowable occupancy in a three-bedroom executive is 8 people and 10 people for our vacation home.  Fairways Cottages has a no tent or trailer onsite policy. Should extra people arrive beyond the maximum allowable occupancy, we will be asking you to vacate the premises. We have insurance policies to adhere for maximum pool and cottage loads.

 

CBMF: Please note, no visitors allowed during the festival weekend. All cars and guests not registered will be asked to vacate the premises by our onsite security personnel.

For the week of the Cavendish Beach Music Festival (CBMF), we require a $300 non-refundable advance deposit at the time of final confirmation of booking which will be applied to your final payment due at check-in. As per this policy, there will be no nightly refunds for early departures of less than a minimum stay of 5 nights during the festival week or for last minute cancellations. Should a guest cancel a confirmed reservation, they cannot reassign their cottage to another party. Only guests registered on the property during the festival weekend will be permitted access to the property. During the festival, extra visitors are not permitted.  At Fairways, we sincerely pride ourselves on guaranteeing our customers a superior vacation experience. This policy is applied to guarantee this experience for all our guests.

CBMF: Please note, absolutely no visitors allowed during the festival weekend. All cars found on the property with their  license plates not registered and guests not registered will be both towed and the extra guests removed by our onsite security personnel. Fairways Cottages reserves the right to refuse guest registration upon arrival. Failing to adhere to Fairways Cottages CBMF policies will result in your removal from the property and no refunds will be issued. 

Fairways Cottages carries a minimum stay of 5 nights policy during July and August. On occasion, shorter term stays may become available between our 1 and 2 week stays, so please call to inquire. We do offer special 2-night and 3-night packages during this time frame: such as our Cavendish Beach Love package, Golf packages, Anne of Green Gables packages and the Family packages.  Please note if you have been extended a shorter than 5 nights between July 3rd and Aug 24th, changes will not be accepted to arrival and departure dates after you received your written confirmation. We maintain all written confirmations on file.

 

**Please note that #24 (Vacation Home), has its own separate policies, with the lowest minimum stay at 5 nights, and during peak season it is a minimum of 7 nights. Please contact us for more details **

Please note we have implemented a no pet policy during the peak operating season of June 29th to Sept 6th. We will however welcome your furry friends during our off-season! We have an excellent recommendation on a kennel services.

From May opening to June 28th, and after Labor Day to Closing, there is an additional charge of $20.00 per night per pet. Please contact us directly to inquire for more details.

All pets must be reported at the time of booking or confirmed prior to arrival. All pets must be on a leash or leashed when at Fairways Cottages.

 Service Animals: if a service animal is required to aid you during your stay, please make sure to have all certificates, licenses, registration, etc. is made available to reservation staff to confirm legal requirement. For more details, inquire directly with reservation staff prior to making reservation.

Fairways Cottages chalets are 100% Smoke Free. With upcoming legalization, please take careful note that this includes ALL substances.

Designated Smoking Areas:

  • Cottage decks (outside only) – ash pots are provided on every deck
  • Fire Pits- unless request not to, as they are communal and level a level of courtesy is requested.

Absolutely NO SMOKING in any of the following areas: (Loosely defined as “Public Areas”)

  • Inside cottages
  • Pool area
  • Children’s Play Parks
  • Horseshoe pits
  • Volleyball, Badminton, and Sandbox areas

Important to note that there will be an additional $200 + HST cleaning/repainting fee applied to the credit card on file should evidence of smoking inside the cottage be found. Evidence includes but is not limited to: Smell of smoke/substance, loose butts, ashes, etc.

In the event the interior is damaged (pine walls, material furniture that is costly to remove odour, etc.) guests may be subject to additional replacement and/or repair fees, re-inspection fees, and/or legal action.

Outdoor cookers, large pots and lobster utensils are available with advance reservation. Please note if you will require additional propane tanks (each cottage will get one propane tank per 7-night stay. If you require a second propane tank during your 7 nights’ stay a charge of $20.00 +HST will be applied to the credit card on file.

Please note the following items are subject to availability:

  • Pack N Plays (Play Pens), highchairs, cots, safety gates and safety rails are all available at no additional charge but are subject to availability and must be reserved.

Onsite coin operated laundry machines are available. They us CAD loonies and quarters.  We do have a limited amount of change at the front desk, as well as 1 load boxes of tide powder laundry soap and 2 sheet bounces for sale in our convenience corner.

Pool policy:

 Please follow all signage at the pool for maximum allowable occupancy and pule rules. Please keep in mind absolutely no glass at the pool, ceramic plates, or anything sharp material that can break and cut a guest or the lining in the pool. Our pool tends to open mid-June (weather dependent) and closes the third weekend in September every year.

Please note: Fairways Cottage policy is no camping tents or trailers are permitted on the  property. There are 4 campgrounds within a 3 minute drive.  Each unit has a maximum allowable overnight occupancy. This policy is strictly enforced.
