EXPERIENCE PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

Surrounded by Anne

Surrounded by Anne

If you’re anything like Anne, curiosity is part of who you are — and if you’re curious about Anne, you’ve come to the perfect place.

Fairways Cottages is nestled on three sides by L.M. Montgomery’s Cavendish Home and National Historic Site. Just across the road, you’ll find the Haunted Woods Trail entrance to the National Park, the Anne of Green Gables House and Museum, and beautiful walking trails. Many of these areas are carefully preserved to reflect the 1908 setting of Anne of Green Gables.

If you’re interested in exploring the rich Acadian, Celtic, or Indigenous cultures of PEI, Cavendish Beach’s central location puts you just minutes from these vibrant communities. We’re happy to provide links and directions to help you deepen your cultural experience on the Island.

40 kilometers of beaches

40 Kilometers of Beaches

When most people think of Prince Edward Island, the stunning beaches are what come to mind first. It’s hard to put into words just how varied and breathtaking they are.

The entire Cavendish Beach Resort and North Shore area borders the entrance to the National Park’s white sand dune beach system — with over 40 kilometers of beaches to explore. One of our favorite pastimes is taking the wooded boardwalk from Fairways Cottages straight to the Cavendish Dune Land Trail.

From there, you can relax and watch the sunset or stroll along the warm shoreline to enjoy the gentle evening sun. We also encourage guests to take a short drive to the South Shore to discover the island’s famous red soil beaches.

Island playground

Island Playground

Prince Edward Island might just be the perfect place to relive your childhood dreams.

With sandy beaches, warm ocean waters, lively parks, and a relaxed, casual vibe, the Island is your ultimate playground. Just minutes from Fairways Cottages, you’ll find more than twenty family attractions — and, of course, our greatest playground of all: Cavendish Beach.

Whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart, these family-friendly spots offer the perfect mix of nostalgia and fun, all easy to access with minimal hassle.

An Island family vacation is meant to be as simple and joyful as enjoying an ice cream cone on a summer afternoon.

Sights and Sounds

Sights and Sounds

Prince Edward Island is alive with music year-round, offering something for every taste. From the Festival of Small Halls and Cavendish Beach Country Music Festival to the Indian River Classical Music Festival and the Charlottetown Festival — plus weekly ceilidhs — there’s always a soundtrack to suit your mood.

Spring is when the Island really comes alive. The Ceilidh at the Irish Hall kicks off in May, and Summerside’s College of Piping hosts the annual Highland Gathering. From there, the celebrations keep rolling until October, making it non-stop party time for months.

Consistently ranked by Condé Nast Traveler readers as one of North America’s top islands, PEI is also Canada’s Number 1 Golf Destination — a world-class golf experience like no other.

Home to the International Couples Golf Festival and boasting 10 of Canada’s Top 100 courses, PEI made history in 2009 as the first Canadian destination to host Golf Channel’s Big Break reality series.

From Fairways Cottages, you’re just a 2 to 6 minute drive away from four 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses — perfect for golf enthusiasts of all levels.

Our local artisans welcome you to see their creations in progress, and some even offer hands-on opportunities to make your own unique piece — or you can simply browse their shops.

While Prince Edward Island has all the major retail clothing stores, what truly sets us apart is the abundance of arts and crafts venues inspired by our rich culture, vibrant Island colors, and stunning scenery.
